Setting Goals.
Today, I wanted to set some goals for myself to achieve by the end of 2022. Here are 5 main goals that I really want to achieve:
• I want to learn how to tune my guitar and how to play songs on it.
• I want to learn how to be more respectful to other people without complaining all the time
• Another interesting thing I want to set is improving my growth mind set.
• I want to achieve 160 blog posts by the end of the year so I can improve from last year.
• For my final goal, I’m going to participate in every activity that we do in class so I can learn some new things!
Homework: Term 3, Week 1
Literacy 6 Sentences:
On a very gloomy day, a old man has lost his loved one. They have been together for many years and promised eachother that they will stay together forever. Until they hit 56, the beautiful lady had cancer but decided not to tell anybody, she decided that she will spend her last days with her loved one since all her family has passed on. They went on walks to go see the beautiful trees, they went to go sit down on the chairs at the beach to watch the sunset, the couple did everything fun that they could do. One fateful day, they went on a walk and sat down on their favourite chair, the guy was wondering why his wife wasn’t talking, but it turns out she wasn’t breathing. He rushed her to the hospital and realised it was too late, from this day on he still sits on that chair with her favourite flower.
Descriptive Writing – Sour lollies
Today, Mr Moran decided to go to a candy shop and bought some lollies for his class to taste test. It was a blind test with a partner, the partner also had to give it to you to feel and smell. It felt very hairy, like a coconut. Some things on the ball were falling off so I actually thought it was something very weird. Also it was very small.
It smelt like nothing to be honest when I had my mask on, but when I took my mask off it smelt like very old cardboard that hasn’t been touched in years, but it also smelt very sugary and sweet.
When I finally put it into my mouth my face changed, my face went very sour and I looked like I was exaggerating very hard. My face felt like it was squishing together and I wanted to spit it out SO bad! Once all the citric acid melted into my mouth, it tasted very sweet, like a normal lolly. I bit into it and a fizzy juice came out of it, it tasted really nice so I savoured the flavour until it went out. It was also funny how I asked for a napkin to spit the lolly in but, I never did! I toughened up and swallowed it!
A really weird fact was it was the most sour lolly that New Zealand has ever made. Usually every sour lolly is made in America but New zealand decided to make their own. Overall I rate it a 10/10.
KPMG Trip
Today, me and 30 other students from Pt England went to the city to go to a place called KPMG. We got on the bus and drove for 15-20 minutes. When we got there, we went into a room called the infinity room and the staff introduced themselves, the KPMG staff was also explaining what there job is and what they do.
Straight after that, we went on a tour through their office, we went on every level and talked to some people that worked there, we also learnt new things about taxes and other things. Me and some other girls were asking our tour guide questions, it was delightful.
We all went back to the infinity room after 20 minutes and ate morning tea, we had sausage rolls and scones, it waas really yum! After we finished eating, we started to take photos infront of a green screen with props on, it was a really fun activity to do in my opinion. Another thing that we learnt was how to photoshop our own pictures! We couldn’t upload the photos we took on the green screen so, we had to take photos on our chromebook and put it on a background.
Afterwards, we had lunch and it was really yummy, it was salad,chicken,fruit kebabs and mini burgers. When we finished eating the delicious food we washed our hands and made stop motions with clay and play-doh. I made a stick man with purple clay doing a dance, we were allowed to mix all the colours but there still had to be normal colours. I took the stop motion photos and created the animation, it was really fun to do to be honest.
In the end, we finished our trip at KPMG and got back on the bus, but first we thanked all of them for having us and for taking time off work for us. When we finally got back on the bus a lot of people were sleeping because it was a long day, overall the whole trip was awesome.

Meet Measurements.
Task Description: Today we were learning about Measurements and their different units. The 4th slide was confusing for me, but I got it in the end. The last slide was me measuring things in my tote-tray and taking a photo of it. This task was challenging for me overall, but i’ll learn about measurements more often.
Mcdonald’s Writing
Mcdonald’s, everybody in the world loves Mcdonald’s, well most non-vegan people. Mcdonald’s is practically located everywhere around the WORLD! They have been famous for over 10 years, but it was built in the 90s. Mcdonald’s are definitely famous for all of their burgers, maybe their fries too. They renovate their stores a lot, that’s why the majority of them look fancy,but some Mcdonald’s don’t renovate their stores at all. It would be awesome if the original design version of Mcdonald’s still existed.
Mcdonald’s was built in San Bernardino, California. It was first originally opened on 15th April 1955, according to google. People have made a documentary of when the first Mcdonald opened and who was the original owner, this documentary was made in 2016. The original owners were Maurice Mcdonald and Richard Mcdonald. But now Mcdonalds is located around the world, in some countries. The Mcdonalds in New Zealand is famous and delicious just like every other one.
Some things that are popular from Mcdonald’s are probably the Big Mac or frozen cokes. These are definitely my top 2 favourites that you should try at Mcdonalds! The frozen cokes come in many different kinds of flavours, but people like to stick with the original. People don’t like buying too many frozen cokes because sometimes they lead to tooth decay. The big mac on the other hand, they have a special kind of sauce that makes the flavours pop out! It’s like a quarter-pounder but stacked on each-other.
Facts:
- Did you know that Mcdonald’s was originally a BBQ restaurant in the 90’s. But then, 8 years later, they started serving burgers,milkshakes,french fries and pies.
- Did you know that there are more Mcdonald restaurants than hospitals? There are about 4,000 more Mcdonald’s restaurants than hospitals.
- The Mcdonald’s logo is one of the most recognizable symbols in the whole entire world!
- Another interesting fact is, nobody knew who made Ronald Mcdonald, the clown mascot.

Today I have finished writing my Mcdonald’s writing that I was working on for 4 days! These might be some things you already knew but that’s okay! Mana Ako Club.
Hello! Mana Ako club is coming to a end for Term 2 and I am getting ready for a new term! Mana ako is a after school club also.
->> What do you look forward to?
I look forward to not waking up early and relaxing. I also look forward to doing maths whizz and other learning stuff, I really like doing learning sometimes.
->> What do you try to avoid?
I try to avoid public speaking and dancing infront of everyone on stage, or anywhere actually. Another thing I try to avoid is showing my stuff infront of everyone, for example, like a presentation.
->> What is something you don’t enjoy but is good for you?
Maths, maths is something I don’t enjoy because I don’t understand algebra and bedmas. I also don’t enjoy sports a little because sometimes it’s confusing.
Here are 2 learning goals that I will try to achieve:
1: I will learn better in maths so I know every question straight away.
2: I will try to achieve my goal by posting more than 80 blogposts in term 2.
