It’s Cool To Be Kind (SLJ Activity)

Today, I have decided to take on the task to comment something positive on someones blog! I didn’t think too much in this comment since i’m a really kind person in real life, so I was thinking with my heart! The three main key ideas for a positive comment is being thoughtful, helpful and positive. Anyways, this task was really fun to do!

Painting with music! (SLJ Teaser 4)

For this task, I decided that my inspirational song was going to be “Lift me up” By Rihanna.

This song was originally made to pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman’s passing. So, I decided to take this inspiration and make something lovely but also sad out of it. My painting basically symbolizes peace, love and pride. Anyways, this was really fun to do and it was really sad to see him go.

Please leave a positive comment on my blog!

Samoan Flag (SLJ Teaser 3)

For my next Summer Learning Journey teaser activity, I have posted what the colors and stars represent in the Samoan flag. I have created the Samoa flag on google drawing and I really think it looks accurate to the real one. Anyways, this was a really fun task to do, in my opinion.

Please leave positive comments on my blog! Thank you!

Manga Character (SLJ Teaser 2)

This evening, for my summer learning journey teaser, I present to you..my manga character! In my opinion, my manga character looks really amazing for my first time! For everybody that doesn’t know what manga is, let me explain it to you. Manga are graphic novels and comics that were originally made in Japan! Manga started in 1814, which makes this..208 years old?! WOW, that is really old.

Anyways, I really hope you enjoyed this! Please leave a positive comment on my blog!

Diwali Art (SLJ Teaser)

Today, for SLJ, I have posted one of the teaser activites which were art. My art simply defines Diwali! In my explanation, Diwali is a fantastic light festival which is celebrated with food, fireworks, colored sand and special lamps. This festival is celebrated by hindu people and can continue on for five days! One fact that I have learnt about Diwali, is that Diwali is the most IMPORTANT religious festival celebrated by hindu people.

Thank you for letting me take up your time! If you would like to participate in SLJ (Summer Learning Journey) , the link is down below! Please leave positive comments on my blog!

Where Angels Fear to Tread Y9

Where angels fear to tread

This task is about reading to find information and make inferences.

Read ‘Where angels fear to tread‘, then answer the following questions.

a)

How old is Ngorongoro Crater?

Ngorongoro Crater was about two million years old.

b)

What word does the writer use in the middle of the story to indicate that he wasn’t scared of buffalo?

The word that proves that he wasn’t scared was Only. You can find proof in the text, “But they weren’t lions, only a buffalo.”

c) What would have been a useful item to take on the walk to the lodge?
Flashlight/Torch, so he can see in the dark since there was barely any light showing. In this text it says, “By now our eyes were used to the darkness.”

________________________________________________________________________

d) Explain how the saying in the final line, “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread”, goes with the story.

“Fools rush in where angels fear to tread” refers to a person who behaves impulsively; they don’t think before reacting. The saying goes with the story because a group of people, Halina and the speaker travel to Africa before knowing very little about it e.g. dangers, animals, people.

________________________________________________________________________

This phrase “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread” connects with this story because this person was a fool and waved his hand at the buffalo not knowing that they are one of Africa’s most dangerous animals. Everybody that was a local, knew that buffalo’s were very dangerous and they knew not to stand in their way or else. Now they know to bring a flashlight at night.

e) What two lessons could be gained from this story?       i. Always be prepared for everything that stands in your way.

Ii. Never react to an animal that you see in Africa.
